The Mitchell County Commissioners race had 3 seats available with 5 candidates running. The top vote getter was Republican Keith Holtsclaw with 4,991 votes. Republican Ken Hollifield received 4,901 and the 3rd seat went to Rickey McKinney running unaffiliated and receiving 3,799 votes. Jim Garofalo received 2,908 and Jerry Prosser had 1,620 votes. There were also 2 seats available on the Board of Education in Mitchell County with 7 contestants in the race. The 2 winners were Sam Blevins and Gabe Woody. Blevins had 3,577 votes and Woody received 2,557. Jeff Harding ran a close 3rd receiving 2,510 votes, just 47 votes less than Woody. (more races)
