Details:  Mrs. Hazel Ann Wright Buckner, 62, of Hickory, NC, departed this life Friday November 23, 2012 at the Catawba Regional Hospice Center, Newton, NC.
     Hazel was born February 10, 1950 in Burke County, a daughter of the late Everette B. and Tessie Brittain Wright. She was a 1968 graduate and co-valedictorian of the George Hildebran High School. Mrs. Buckner retired as a rural mail carrier in Burke County after 20 years of service. She enjoyed raising Boar Goats and beef and dairy cattle.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Wright and a sister Joyce Moss.
     Surviving are her husband, Bill Buckner of the home, a son, Matthew Johnson and wife April of Drexel, two daughters, Tracy Stilwell and husband Couby of Connelly Springs, Sara Johnson of Winston-Salem, a brother, Kenneth Wright of Hickory and a sister Peggy Crotts of Hickory. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Riley and Holden Stilwell and Gavin Johnson.
Funeral Services for Hazel Wright Buckner will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday November 25, 2012 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese, with Rev. Kenneth Bryant officiating. A Graveside Service will be at 2:30 P.M. Monday in the Scott Family Cemetery on Price Creek Rd., Yancey County, with Rev. Stacy Elkins officiating.
     The family will receive friends from 2 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese.
