Details:  Belle Smith Wilkie formerly of Spruce Pine died Saturday, December 22nd at the home of her daughter in Concord, NC.
     Born on July 23, 1917 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Bruster and Rachael Bradford Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Monroe Wilkie who passed away in 1986. She was also preceded in death by her son, David Wilkie who passed away in 1995, her sisters; Joyce McFalls, Alice Burleson, and Lizzie Ricker and her brothers; Robert and Charles Smith. She was a member of the Pine Branch Baptist Church.
     The funeral service for Belle Wilkie will be conducted on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Pine Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the church.
     Belle WIlkie is survived by her daughters; Barbara Motley and husband, Wayne of Concord, NC; Brenda Greene and husband, Scotty of Mt. Ulla, NC; Kay Allen and husband, Joe of Woodleaf, NC; and Denice McCorkle and husband, Donnie of China Grove, NC; her son; Cecil Wilkie, Jr. and wife, Connie of Huntersville, NC and her sister; Thelma Hill of Hampton, VA; ten grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.
