A father allegedly fired the shot that left his son in critical condition as of late last night. Deputies say 64 year old John Benton Wilson, shot his son 33 year old John Christopher Wilson, in the head during a heated argument early Wednesday morning. The shooting happened at the elder Wilson’s home at 114 Travis Shelton Road, where his son also was living. Another person, a female friend of the victim, was in the home and witnessed the shooting. Investigators say the argument was over his son's criminal history. John Jr. had recently been released for serving time for DUI charges. He's hospitalized at Mission Hospital. The elder Wilson is being held at the Madison County Jail under a 1 million dollar bond.
