Details:  A native of Mitchell Co., she was the daughter of the late Joe and Geneva Grindstaff and the wife of the late Maynard Stamey.
     Survivors include her daughters: Shirlene Hopps of Alabama and Teresa Taylor of Gastonia; sons: Keith Stamey of Bakersville and Todd Stamey of Spruce Pine; sisters: Ima Jean Childers, Betty McKinney and Nita Buchanan all of Bakersville; brothers: Jim Grindstaff and David Grindstaff both of Charlotte, Roger Grindstaff of Bakersville and Mike Grindstaff of Georgia; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
     Funeral Services will be 6:30 pm Saturday, December 29, 2012 in the Grassy Creek Baptist Church. Matt Mills and Don Ford will officiate. The famliy will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Bear Creek Church Cemetery on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 2:00 pm officiated by Tony McKinney.
