Details:  Alvin Archibald Dingle, husband of Mary Jane Dingle, died Saturday at their residence in Little Switzerland.
     Al was born on June 5, 1942 in Williamsburg, SC, a son of the late Alvin A. Dingle, Sr. and the late Sally Altman Dingle. He graduated from Winyah High School in 1960 and attended the University of South Carolina. He joined the South Carolina National Guard for several years. He worked for Baker Equipment Engineering Company and then owned and operated Dingle Equipment Company for numerous years. Also during that time, he coached the youth of Georgetown County in baseball and softball. In 1989, the family moved to Liberty Hill, S.C. where he began to develop property in North Carolina and then moved in 1997 to North Carolina to be closer to his properties.
     Surviving are: his wife, Mary Jane; one son, Alvin A. “Beau” Dingle, Jr. of Conway, S.C. and his wife, Catherine H. Dingle; one daughter, Mary Dawn Murdock of Columbia, S.C. and her husband, William Lawton Murdock; his sister Donna Draughn of Isle of Palms, S.C. and her husband, Bobby; his brother, Eddie Dingle of Andrews, S.C. and his wife, Jenny; four grandchildren, Sarah Harper and Lawton Murdock, Anna Altman and Mary Mitchell Dingle; and, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
