Details:  Gladys Stamey Bartlett of Bakersville passsed away on Wednesday, January 2nd at Brian Center Health and Rehab in Spruce Pine, NC. She was a native of Mitchell County NC and the daughter of the late Clyde and Ella Buchanan Stamey.
     She was a Graduate of Bakersville High School and a Member of Bear Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in the lawn, growing flowers, and being a homemaker.
     She was preceded in death by her husband Adam Bartlett and her granddaughter Sarah Thomas.
     Survivors include; two daughters; Norma Ellis, of Bakersville, NC and Shelba Thomas, of Albemarle, NC, one son; Adam Bartlett, of Asheville, NC, six grandchildren and spouses; Chris and Christina Buchanan, Rev. Roger William Ellis, Dawn and Francis Bloom, Lori and Dwayne Huskins, Debra and Ken Bell, and Ed and Rosemary Thomas, nine great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren, and one great great great grandchild.
     Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 2:00PM in Bear Creek Baptist Church with Larry Greene and William Ellis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery.
