Details:  Clifton Lee Carroll of Nebo passed away on Monday, December 31st at The McDowell Hospital.  Born in Yancey County, NC on December 20, 1944, he was the son of the late Lee and Lillian Silvers Carroll.  A loving husband, father and grandfather, Clifton loved the Lord and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church where he served as an assistant teacher.  He enjoyed playing music at Sunrise Rehabilitation & Care and at church.  Mr. Carroll was formerly employed at Air Preheater and later became self-employed in home improvements.
     He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Louise Carroll of the home; three daughters, Sheila Carroll Parker and husband, Trent of Wilson, NC, Teresa Carroll Reaves and husband, Frankie of Semora, NC and Karen Carroll McKinney and husband, Kyle of Marion, NC; one son, Curtis Carroll and wife, Angie of Connelly Springs, NC; two sisters, Jearlene Carroll and Abigail Harris, both of Burnsville, NC; seven grandchildren, Maranda and husband, Cameron, Ashley, Hannah, Rebecca, Megan and husband, Victor, Jesse and Hayden; one great grandson, Brayden.
     A funeral service will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 at 2:00 P.M.. in the Chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home with Revs. Wendell Parlier and Bud Harmon officiating.  Interment will follow at Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M.. until 2:00 P.M.., one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
