Heritage wrestlers continue to improve
The Heritage wresting team has been busy this season and currently sports a record of 5-12 in dual meet competition after a loss this past week at South Caldwell.The Cougars have taken wins this season over Christ School (42-34), Charlotte Country Day (42-30), Ben Lippen (48-30) and Asheville School twice by scores of 54-27 and 45-36.
The team competed in the KT Feldspar Dual Tournament at Mitchell over the Christmas break. At the tournament the Cougars wrestled Cherokee, which is ranked 7th in the state among 1A Schools, in a close match losing by only 3 points as Nick Yelton went 3-2 in the competition defeating wrestlers from Mitchell, RS Central, and Cherokee.
Heritage wrestlers will take on Mitchell at home on Friday in a Western Highlands Conference match. Action gets underway at 6:00 p.m.
