TRACTOR Food and Farms has buyers lined up, and is looking for growers to meet the produce demands.  If you're a farmer and would like to sign up to be a grower with the facility, you will need to attend one of the grower's meetings.  The Yancey County growers' meeting will be held Tuesday January 15th at 6:00pm at the Yancey County Cooperative Extension Center at 10 Orchard Drive in Burnsville.  A light meal will be provided.  Mitchell county will host a growers' meeting on Thursday January 17th at 6:00pm at the Bakersville Historic Courthouse at 11 North Mitchell Avenue in Bakersville.  The meetings will provide an update on the accomplishments of TRACTOR and update growers on their requirements.  A second growers meeting is scheduled for February 5th at 6:00pm at the Yancey County Cooperative Extension Center and on February 7th at 6:00pm in Mitchell County at the Bakersville Historic Courthouse.  If you plan to sell produce through TRACTOR you must attend these meetings.  To register for the January meeting call the Yancey County Extension at 682-6186.
