Details: Garmon Franklin McPeters of Upper Browns Creek passed away at his home on Sunday, January 13th.  A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late William Taft and Zelda Mae Ledford McPeters.  He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorris Sweat and a brother, Calvin McPeters.  
     Surviving is a daughter, Tisha Said of Columbia Station, OH; a son, J.D. McPeters of Cleveland, OH; a sister, Violet Chrisawn of Upper Browns Creek; a brother, Arnold McPeters of Green Mountain.  Several other family members also survive.
     Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 17th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Good Cemetery off of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
