A well-known business in Marion was destroyed by fire Friday night. The fire was around 8:30pm at Duncan Shoe House on Highway 70. Firefighters got the blaze under control just after 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning. The Marion Fire Department was on the scene along with 11 other departments. Officials said no one was injured in the blaze, but one of the owners was inside the building when the fire started. He was able to escape and call 911. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
