Details: Phillip Gardner of Celo passed away on Monday, February 4th in the McDowell Hospital. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Floyd and Mary Autrey Gardner. He was also preceded in death by 5 sisters: Thelma Murphy, Ruth Flemmings, Julie Blevins, Louise Branch and Dorothy Mace and 2 brothers: Lewis Gardner and Paul Gardner. Phillip had attended Nebo First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his sister, Pauline Norman and her husband, Charles, of Nebo and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Doug Worley will officiate. Burial will be in the Bowditch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
