Details: Mae Barnett Hughes of Green Mtn. passed away on Tuesday, February 6th at her home.
     A native of Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Solomon and Victoria Griffith Barnett and the wife of Dewey Hughes who passed away in 1987. She was a homemaker. Mae was also preceded in death by four sisters and four brothers.
     Survivors include her daughters: Thelma Brown and husband Joe and Linda Peterson and husband Robert all of Green Mtn., and Emma Murphy and husband Wayne of Granite Falls, NC; son, D. J. Hughes and wife Sue of Matthews, NC; brother, Iss Barnett of Erwin, TN;  11 grandchildren including special grandson, Steve Barnett,  12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
     Funeral services will be at 8:00 pm Saturday, February 9th, 2013 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Reed Bagby, Joe Brown, Jerry Barnett and Danny Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be 1:00 pm Sunday in the White Pine Cemetery on Byrd Creek Road.
