Details: Alice Rhyne Pittman went to sleep in Christ on Saturday, February 9th.

Her funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 1013 at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Gibson officiating. Her body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Pine Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Spruce Pine, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pittman was born September 20, 1921 in Mitchell County, NC to the late Jesse W. and Effie Turbyfill Rhyne. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Pittman. She was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and much loved friends and mother figure to countless people other than family.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Pittman and wife, Bonnie, of Morganton: a daughter, Carol Bumgarner and husband, Andrew, of Cherryville: a brother, Harold Rhyne of Spruce Pine: two sisters, Doris Thompson and Lucille Burleson, both of Spruce Pine: five grandchildren, Kenneth C. Pittmans of Oceanside, CA, Timothy Michael Pittman of Morganton, NC, Sandra Portilla of Burlington, NC, Beverly Lunsford of Morganton, NC and Jacob V. Pittman of Houston, TX; seven great-grandchildren, Christian Miles Spake, Michaela E. Pittman, Sophia N. Pittman, Ashlyn Williams, Lillie M. Pittman, Aden S. Lunsford and Troy Martin.
