A water main break on the Town of Spruce Pine Water System has prompted the Division of Water Resources to issue a System Pressure Advisory for customers in the affected area which is located near the united Methodist Church on Hwy. 226 South at the top of Burleson Hill. All water customers south of the break into the Grassy Creek area and on Greenwood Road are advised to vigorously boil all water used for human consumption for one minute or use bottled water when the water is restored to your home.  The advisory remains in effect until further notice. Authorities say repairs are underway and should be completed later this afternoon.
