Details: Louise Harris Brooks of Fire Tower Road in Little Switzerland died on Monday, March 18th at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.

Born on December 18, 1927 in Calhoun County, GA; she was the daughter of the late William Franklin and Henrietta Wright Harris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Washington Brooks.
Mrs. Brooks loved gardening and working with her flowers and sewing. She also enjoyed keeping in touch with her family and friends, listening to gospel music and watching many different religious programs on television.
Mrs. Louise Brooks is survived by her daughter; Delores Schellenger of Little Switzerland; her son; Dennis Brooks and wife, Joye of Vero Beach, FL; her sisters; Mittie Lee Hancock of South Pittsburg, TN and Jimmie Lou Moore of Sewanee, TN; her granddaughter; Casey Pisarik and husband, Michael; and her great grandchildren; Makayla, Anthony, Matthew, and Hannah.
The funeral service for Mrs. Louise Brooks will be conducted on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev’s. Vernon Buchanan and Matthew Costner officiating. Interment will follow in the Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday morning from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations to either: Mitchell County Animal Shelter, First Baptist Church of Spruce Pine Music Department, or the charity of one’s choice.
