New Design Guidelines Adopted by Burnsville Town Council
There was a full house Thursday afternoon at a public meeting in the Town Hall in Burnsville. This meeting was to get public input on the final changes in the new design guidelines. Under the authority of the Burnsville Town Council The planning commission has been working for several years on development and zoning guidelines and an updated sign ordinance. There were some heated exchanges between those for the new ordinance and those against it. The meeting adjourned after about an hour and half of discussion. Following that meeting was the August Town Council Meeting. During the Town Council meeting Mayor Danny McIntosh pointed out several reasons why he felt like the design guidelines needed additional clarification and refinements. A motion was made to call for a vote and the design guidelines were approved by a vote of 4 to 1 with Mayor Danny McIntosh casting his vote against it.
