Health Festival at the Yancey Senior Center
As part of Falls Prevention Awareness Week, the Yancey Senior Center will be having a Health Festival from Monday, September 23 through Thursday, September 26. The Festival will begin at 10:00 am and run until 1:00 pm daily. The following agencies will be holding events at the festival: Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Hospice of Yancey, Hospice of Mitchell, Brian Center, Brookside Rehabilitation & Care, Appalachian Eye Associates, Hearing Connections, Heritage Pharmacy, The Division of Services for the Blind and Blue Ridge Regional Hospital.
The schedule of events is as follows:
Monday, Sept. 23 - Hearing Screenings, Blood Pressure Checks, Balance Assessments, and a Program on Safety at Home.
Tuesday, Sept. 24 - Flu Shot Clinic, Hearing Screenings, Vision Screenings, and a Program on Hearing at 11:30 am.
Wednesday, Sept. 25 - Balance Assessments, Information on Hip Fractures and Fall Prevention, Hearing Information to be distributed.
Thursday, Sept. 26 - Blood Pressure Checks, Fall Prevention Assessments, and a Program on Falls Prevention at 10:30 am.
