Details: James Willard ‘Bill’ Henline of Bailey Avenue in Spruce Pine died on Tuesday, August 27th at the Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation of Spruce Pine after a long illness.
He was born in Mitchell County on September 21, 1921 to the late Dock and Sallie Blalock Henline. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven sisters; Anna Sullins, Maude Young, Mary Ellis, Nell Pitman, Rosa Hise, Brite Lyons, and Louise Stanberry and two brothers; Nelson and Bascom Henline.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in India and Burma. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spruce Pine and was retired from National Linen.
Mr. Bill Henline leaves behind his wife of sixty-six years; Emma Lee Pitman Henline; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mr. Bill Henline will be conducted on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev’s David Vess and Larry Greene officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services and interment will be Saturday morning at 11:00 am in the Swan Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank; Hospice of Mitchell County for their wonderful care given to Mr. Henline during his illness and also to his special friend and care giver, Rosa Miller.
