Details: Pearl Hoyle Grindstaff of Penland died Sunday, October 13th at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation in Spruce Pine.
Born on March 27, 1922 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Bascom and Annie Tipton Hoyle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Grindstaff. She was also preceded in death by her son; Buddy Wyatt; grandsons; Michael and Eddie Wyatt and her sister; Lucy Hoyle Grindstaff.
Pearl was a member of the Lily Branch Baptist Church. She loved gardening and was a cook in the cafeteria of the Penland School for seventy-five years.
Pearl Grindstaff leaves behind her grandson; Chris Wyatt and wife, Christina of Spruce Pine; her great grandchildren; Ashley Wyatt, Dylan Wyatt, and Kylie Wyatt all of Spruce Pine; her niece; Violet Weaver and husband, of Georgetown, IN; and her nephews; Dean and Ricky Hoyle both of Burnsville.
The funeral service for Pearl Grindstaff will be conducted on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Honeycutt officiating. Interment will follow in the Lily Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
