A Disabled Veteran Murdered

Yancey County Sheriff's Department is searching for someone shot and killed a disabled veteran in his own home. The body of 74-year-old James Anglin was found Sunday night lying on the floor, by a friend who had stopped by to check on him. Investigators say he was already dead when deputies arrived at 1280 Old Mine Fork Road. Yancey County Sheriff Gary Banks said it appears that Anglin likely knew the person who killed him.   Last night, detectives were interviewing family, friends and neighbors, trying to determine who was the last person to see the victim alive. The Yancey Sheriff’s Department is requesting help from the public. If you have any information in the case, contact the sheriff's office at 682-2124
