Fire at JP’s BBQ

A late night fire last week at JP’s BBQ in Spruce Pine has left the restaurant with heavy smoke damage, according to a spokesman for the Spruce Pine Fire Department, which along with Parkway Fire and Rescue responded to the emergency call around 11:30 pm on October 15th. When firefighters arrived on scene they found the structure engulfed in smoke and flames shooting out the backside of the building which is located next to the old Food Lion Store in Grassy Creek.  After quickly extinguishing the blaze, it was discovered that the electrical panel in the kitchen was the cause of the fire. No injuries or other damage was reported.
