Horses Allowed in Burnsville Christmas Parade
There will be horses in the Burnsville Christmas Parade this year. The Chamber of Commerce board is in the process of developing procedures that would involve signing up to participate and possibly liability waivers. The Chamber board had discussed eliminating the horses because of previous incidents, accidents and liability issues. A press release from the Chamber seeking parade applications stated that horses would not be allowed. Some board members however say they had not made a decision at that time but want the tradition to continue. The number of participants in this category has increased, setting a record last year, so registration - as is required in other categories - is necessary to protect the riders and the viewing public. Those wishing to participate can apply online at yanceychamber.com or at 106 W. Main St, Burnsville or call 682-7413 for more information.
