Nathan Miller, an attorney in Watauga County has announced his candidacy for District Attorney for the 24th District. The district includes Avery, Madison, Mitchell, Watauga and Yancey counties. Miller has lived in the mountains of North Carolina all of his life and currently lives with his wife and daughter in Watauga County. Miller has served for the last four years as the youngest Chairman in the history of the Watauga County Board of Commissioners. He has been endorsed by former District Attorney Tom Rusher. With Nathan Miller, a Republican adding his name to the list of people interested in the District Attorney office there will be a May 2014 primary. Other candidates include Seth Banks, an attorney in Burnsville who has been endorsed by former Congressman Charles Taylor and former NC Supreme Court Justice Bob Orr and Britt Springer, who is the current Chief Prosecutor and has the endorsement of current DA Jerry Wilson.
