TRAC Art Apprentice Program Reaches Out to Community

Several area men and women who have little or no income will be eligible for apprenticeships through the Toe River Arts Council thanks to a $20,000 grant from the Yancey Fund in conjunction with the Community Foundation of WNC. The grant will allow the Toe River Arts Council to target up to 10 individuals for the program. The apprentice program will allow those individuals chosen to learn and practice hands on day to day tasks involved in running an arts and crafts business as well as the opportunity to attend classes at Mayland Community College while also connecting with art studios and artists in the area.
