An autopsy report released last week showed that 69-year-old James Anglin died from multiple gunshot wounds. His body was found by Yancey County deputies at his Mine Fork home on October 13th after a neighbor became concerned that he had not seen Anglin for several days and looked into the residence where he saw him lying on the kitchen floor. Yancey Sherriff Gary Banks said that the department’s investigation has produced a timeline puts a suspect within 1000 feet of the residence within 30 minutes of the time that the autopsy shows that Anglin died. That suspect has admitted to being at the home many times. Banks said that he had met with the DA’s office and was told that his department needed more evidence if it planned on charging this suspect. Banks said that they are now waiting on analysis from the SBI lab of further forensic evidence in the case.
