Buck Stove and SP Rotary Partner for BBQ and Bluegrass Festival
The Rotary Club of Spruce Pine is proud to announce their partnership with Buck Stove who will be the Presenting Sponsor of the 2014 Spruce Pine BBQ Championship & Bluegrass Festival. After all, it’s an American Tradition - BBQ, Bluegrass, and Buck Stove.
The bluegrass line-up this year includes great bands like the award winning Boxcars, Darin & Brooke Aldridge, The Snyder Family Band, and local Asheville favorites Buncombe Turnpike. Even more craftsmen, artists, non-profits, and other vendors will be at this year’s festival and, as always the BBQ will be great and plentiful. This year’s BBQ Championship & Bluegrass festival promises to be a great event for the whole family. The festival dates are the 3rd Friday & Saturday in July, July 18 – 19, 2014, in downtown Spruce Pine.
n 1975 Robert Bailey and Alvin Barrier were operating Minpro Supply in Spruce Pine selling gasoline and refurbished appliances. They were approached by an Asheville businessman with a request. He had built a new wood-burning stove with a three-speed motor and he needed someone who could manufacture the stove he called “Regular Buck”. Due to the energy crisis of the mid 70’s with people looking for heating alternatives, this seemed like a good venture. Within two weeks there was so much interest that Robert and Alvin decided to start manufacturing them full time. Within three months they sold 200 stoves and were selling them as fast as they could make them.
Buck Stove has continued to grow and expand under the leadership of Robert Bailey. The 300,000 sq. ft. state of the art manufacturing facility located on Halltown Road supports 90 employees, handcrafting a variety of wood stoves, gas stoves, gas log sets, coal stoves, outdoor grills, electric stoves, fire pits, chimineas, furniture, lamps and lighting décor and decorative wood flag boxes for our armed forces and their families.
All Buck Stove products are proudly Made in the U.S.A. and are designed and hand crafted right here in Spruce Pine. “Unmatched American Quality” is the company's main philosophy. “We continue to improve our products and customer service so that they stand second to none. This is our practice now and will be on into the future. Buck Stove, Unmatched Product, Unmatched People, Unmatched Pride”.
