Blue Ridge Regional Hospital CEO to Leave

Blue Ridge Regional Hospital President and CEO Oscar Weinmeister is leaving his current post in Spruce Pine to accept a new position at Mission Hospital. Weinmeister will serve as Mission’s vice president of ambulatory development and will transition into his new role sometime this month. Blue Ridge Board of Directors Hoggard Green and Missions Vice President of Systems Operations Lynn Boggs will work together to select Weinmeister’s replacement as Boggs will assume temporary responsibility for Blue Ridge Operations. Weinmeister began his stint with the hospital in 2011 and during his tenure the hospital saw an increase in births as well as surgery volume. He was instrumental in raising almost 50 percent of a $1.5 million capital campaign for the construction of a new medical office building planned for the hospital complex.
