MCC GED Graduation

Mayland Community College’s Adult Education Department celebrated the 134 adults who completed their high school equivalency between April and December 2013 at a ceremony held on January 17. This GED® graduation made the grand total of GED® graduates at Mayland to over 8,020 in 43 years.
The ceremony’s guest speaker was 2014 GED® graduate Annette Huskins who shared her story about getting her GED through the new Healthcare Career Pathway program. This program is under the Adult Education Department.
Scholarships awarded to GED® graduates during the ceremony included James Duncan who received the Linda “Butch” Woody Scholarship, Annette McCloud who was presented the Mary Jane Burleson Scholarship, Austin Wheeler who was given the John Wesley Sides IV Scholarship and Annette Huskins who was presented with the Avery Rotary Scholarship.
