A former Bank of America CEO and his wife have given $1 million to Crossnore School to help with the school’s campaign to raise $6.3 million to provide housing for 30 additional students and a new school building.
Ken Lewis and his wife Donna of Charlotte made the contribution after taking a tour of the school last fall. Crossnore School helps provide a loving secure home for children that have suffered physical or sexual abuse or severe neglect.
The funds will also go towards three new cottages that will each house ten students and a couple to serve as professional foster parents. The project, when completed, will allow Crossnore School to increase enrollment by about a third to 120 students.
