Seth Banks officially filed his notice of candidacy to run for District Attorney for the 24th Prosecutorial District on Wednesday. The 24th District includes Avery, Madison, Mitchell, Watauga, and Yancey counties.
“Gretchen and I are excited to have the support of many people across the 24th District,” Banks said. “We look forward to talking with many more folks about my qualifications and values before the May 6th primary.”
Banks was formally an Assistant District Attorney and is certified by the North Carolina State Bar as a specialist in State Criminal Law. As a prosecutor Seth successfully tried numerous cases to verdict before NC juries and has tried cases ranging from first-degree murder to crimes against children to trafficking in drugs. He has developed a reputation as a tough, but fair, prosecutor.
