On Thursday, January 23, Spruce Pine Rotary club President, Janie DeVos, introduced David Reed, Director of Fitness and Rehabilitation Services Department at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. David hails from Michigan where he earned a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Wayne State University in Detroit and completed a PT internship in acute care at Detroit Receiving Hospital. He later served an internship in athletic rehabilitation at Functional Performance Center in Tempe, AZ. In 2012 David earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University. (Go Spartans!) David was recently appointed to serve on the NC Board of Physical Therapy Examiners. In his role at BRRH, David will work on developing and growing the relationship of the hospital and the communities it serves. In his presentation, David gave specific guidelines for a successful exercise program, which are to set specific goals, to choose an exercise one enjoys, and to be committed to the program. Spruce Pine Rotarians appreciate David's sharing this information with us and welcome him and his family to our community.
