Do you want to add more activity into your life but just aren’t sure how to get started? Well, here is a solution…Graham Children’s Health Services is sponsoring a free Couch Potato to BFF 5K Training Program.
Beginning Saturday, March 8, folks of all ages and fitness levels are invited to Cane River Park to get out there and get moving. Sometimes the hardest part about being more active is just getting started. The Couch Potato Program provides the motivation and support to help you figure out what to do in order to safely get started. At the completion of the training, you will be ready to run or walk in the Burnsville Fit Families 5K, a 3.1 mile run/walk, on Saturday, May 17.
To get you motivated, Graham Children’s Health Services and Blue Ridge Fitness and Rehab will host community runs/walks each Tuesday at 5:30 PM and on Saturdays at 9:00 AM at Cane River Park. To join the weekly email list to receive workout reminders and healthy tips and recipes, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
These runs/walks are free and open to the public regardless of your fitness level.
“This is a great opportunity for the whole family to get fit together. We hope the community will take advantage of this great training program” said Ron Powell, GCHS Board Member.
