Miller Awarded Spruce Pine Town Hall Contract
Miller Contracting and Construction Company of Spruce Pine has been awarded a contract to do renovations on the new location of the Spruce Pine Town Hall. Town Hall was moved from near downtown to the former PNC Bank building at the top of Burleson Hill on Hwy 226. Architectural plans call for a new entrance with stonework exteriors, a drive through window with a canopy and a new addition to the rear of the building for a town board meeting room. Contractors have an August 15th deadline to complete the $229,062 project. The Town Hall is the first phase of an overall plan for the property that may eventually include a separate police department, driver’s license office, magistrate’s office as well as an office for the NC Highway Patrol.
