Nebo Father Charged

A father from Nebo faces charges in the death of his 12 year old son who died from carbon monoxide poisoning last month.  The McDowell County Sheriff's Office reports Timothy Bartlett's negligence lead to his 12-year-old son's death. On February 7th, Bartlett and his two sons were found unconscious in their home. Detectives say Bartlett should not have had a generator inside and that the home had no carbon monoxide detector. They also say Bartlett was in possession of methamphetamine. 30-year-old Bartlett surrendered to authorities Tuesday afternoon. A day after a grand jury indictment was handed-down. He's charged with involuntary manslaughter, felony child abuse and possession of methamphetamine. Bartlett is being held in the McDowell County Jail under a $70,000 bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for April 28th.
