High Peaks Tackles Jump-off Gap April 19
For an unusual view of the northernmost section of the Black Mountains, join the High Peaks Trail Association for a hike to Jump-off Gap on April 19. This 8-mile hike is rated as difficult, with a climb and descent of more than 1,000 feet. Hikers should assemble at the Burnsville Town Square at 8:30 a.m. The group will carpool to the trail head. Leashed dogs are welcome. Bring lunch, plenty of water, rain gear and warm clothes. Be sure to check the club’s website,www.nchighpeaks.org, or Facebook page for last-minute changes due to weather.
