Morris Receives Scholarship for Photoshop Conference
Mayland Community College’s Director of Marketing, Beth Morris, was recently presented the Dean Collins Photoshop World Educational Scholarship to attend the Photoshop World Conference and Expo this April in Atlanta.
The Dean Collins Photoshop World Educational Scholarship honors the legacy of Dean Collins – his gift for teaching, his passion for quality, and his lifetime of contributions to the worldwide Photoshop community. It is awarded annually to one college educator. The scholarship provided Morris the opportunity to attend the KelbyOne’s annual convention including travel expenses, hotel accommodations, and a full conference pass. KelbyOne’s Photoshop World conference is a three-day training event taught by the world’s leading Photoshop experts with workshops in photography and graphic design.
Morris has spent most of her adult life behind the camera, both still and video. Going on twelve years, she has worked in Mayland Community College’s Marketing Department as college writer, photographer, videographer, editor, graphic designer, social media manager as well as marketing and publications director. Morris has degrees in Mass Communication and Journalism and teaches courses for the college in addition to her marketing responsibilities. Morris has taught Introduction to Communication as well as Humanities classes for the Arts and Sciences Department and Digital Photography, Advanced Digital Photography, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, social media and social media marketing classes for Mayland’s Continuing Education Department.
The scholarship also included a one-year membership to KelbyOne, an online training tool and a subscription to Photoshop User magazine.
