Voters Go To Polls Tomorrow

Voters go the to the polls tomorrow, to cast ballots on Primary Election Day. Voting will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

In Mitchell County voters will decide on who will fill three seats on the Board of Commissioners where incumbents Bill Slagle and Joe Street face challenges from Vern Grindstaff, Dan McKinney and Wesley Vaughn.

In Yancey County voters will select two candidates for the school board where incumbents Mike Orr and Jack Tipton are being challenged by Jeanna Tyner, Judy F. Presnell and Grace Whitson.

Republican and Unaffiliated voters choose one of three candidates in the district attorney’s race where Seth Banks of Yancey County and Nathan Miller and Britt Springer of Watauga County are vying for the position left open after former DA Jerry Wilson stepped down due to health issues. Numerous other state and federal races are on the ballots as well on Primary Election day on Tuesday.
