Town Council Hears From Merchants

Merchants and residents in the Town of Burnsville presented a laundry list of issues of ways to make the town more customer and tourist friendly to the Town Council at the latest board meeting.  Business owners told the council that the town is not pedestrian friendly and that speeding and loud mufflers on some cars and trucks were a nuisance, complaining that local law enforcement does nothing to control the problem. Others complained about the cleanliness of the town and the lack of signs directing visitors to municipal parking as well as other problems that could be corrected with some effort. Burnsville Mayor Therese Coletta told the group that their complaints were legitimate and pledged the support of the council in addressing the issues, Coletta also appointed several individuals to meet with her to come up with some ideas to fix the problems.
