Heritage Coach Joey Robinson Honored With State Award

Mountain Heritage athletic director/football coach Joey Robinson is one of the statewide winners of the Homer Thompson Eight Who Make a Difference Sportsmanship award from the N.C. High School Athletic Association. Eight coaches were chosen for the award for exemplary sportsmanship and nominated by NCHSAA member schools. Robinson received the award during a May 1 ceremony in Chapel Hill. He was nominated by his colleagues because of his commitment to athletics and positive presence both on and off the field. Robinson has been the Cougars' football coach for 12 seasons and led them to a 2-A regional championship in 2009. Mountain Heritage went 7-5 overall last fall and 4-3 in the Western Highlands Conference.
