Performing Arts Camp

Up for a dramatic rescue?  Are you undiscovered royalty?  Parkway Playhouse and Dance Express are ready to help you realize those dreams with some exciting performing arts camps for students of all ages.  
Parkway Playhouse Junior, the award-winning performing arts program for students, created Parkway Playhouse, is now registering students for its upcoming Fairy Princess Ballerina Day Camp, it’s upcoming summer production camp of Disney’s Aristocats KIDS, and the Musical Theater Summer Intensive camp for teens.
The Fairy Princess Ballerina Camp (ages 3-7)  starts on July 21st and goes through July 25th from 9:00am-12:00pm. This is the ultimate ‘girly’ drama camp, full of crafts, costumes, tea parties, dancing, games, songs, and of course lots of make believe.
The Disney’s Aristocats, KIDS production camp runs from July 7th includes two public performances on July 18th and 19th at 6:00pm on Parkway Playhouse’s historic stage. The production camp is geared for students between the ages of 4 through 13. Campers will get the chance to go through the entire process of putting on a show from casting-to choreography-to costumes- to curtain call. Tuition for the Disney’s Aristocats, KIDS production Camp is $180.
 In Disney's The Aristocats KIDS, the  a jealous butler, Edgar, cat-naps Duchess and her Aristo-kittens and abandons them in the Parisian countryside after learning that they will inherit a large estate from their feline-friendly owner, Madame.  Luckily, Thomas O'Malley and his rag-tag bunch of alley cats come to their rescue!
Parkway Playhouse Junior is offering a five-day Musical Theater Intensive Summer Camp for the more advanced and serious students.  The Musical Theater Intensive Class is open to students between the ages of 10 and 18.  It runs July 28th-August 1st from 10:00am until 2:00pm.  Tuition is $120.  Students will get hands on experience and coaching in the areas of voice, acting, dancing, auditioning and more.  The intensive will be lead by instructors with years of showbiz experience.  Students interested in participating should be prepared to be on their feet.  This is a great opportunity for students who are serious about making the performing arts a part of their lives to develop some new skills and get valuable feedback from working professionals.
Summer camps meet at Dance Xpress, located at 605 19E W. By Pass in Burnsville. This location is between Yancey Graphics and TAP Photography.
