Pesticide Applicators Licensing Class & Test for License

Anyone who buys and uses pesticides bearing the label statement, Restricted-Use Pesticide, in producing agricultural commodities on their own or rented land must be certified as a private pesticide applicator. On Wednesday, June 25 at 9:00 a.m., the Mitchell County Center and the Yancey County Center of North Carolina Cooperative Extension will be offering a Pesticide Class to update those interested in taking the private pesticide applicators test. The same day at 1:00 p.m., the NCDA&CS Pesticide Inspector will be available to administer the test needed to obtain the license. The class and test will be held at the Yancey County Extension Center, located at 10 Orchard Street in Burnsville. Any one interested in getting a license as a commercial applicator will also be able to take the test to obtain a license in any commercial category. To take the commercial examine you must call and register prior to the day of the class. Those interested in attending and taking the test can call and register at 688-4811 or 682-6187.
