Drivers Slowing Down as BPD Monitors Traff

Efforts by the Burnsville Police Department to slow down speeding traffic through town has had a dramatic effect on the driving habits of motorists according to Police Chief Brian Buchanan who said today that his department has seen a big decrease in the number of citations that it has had to issue over the past couple of weeks of the campaign that has been underway for about five weeks now. The issue of speeding and motorists not yielding to pedestrians came to light at a recent Town Council meeting. Chief Buchanan said that several merchants in town have made positive comments about the improvement in the situation and that his department will continue to monitor traffic in Burnsville and adjust their patrols as needed. A total of 220 citations have been issued for various offenses in the town over the past month according to Chief Buchanan.
