Nicklious Corn II, age 76, of Burnsville, formerly of Kinston, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 24th, 2014 at Mission Memorial Campus. He was a son of the late Leonard and Alma Riley Corn.  He was also preceded in death by a sister, Daphene Moody and a brother, Howard Corn.  He was owner and operator of L&C Gunsmith Shop in Snow Hill and   was a radio operator in the National Guard, having served for over 12 years.  He was a fun loving husband, father and grandfather.  Nick never met a stranger and was friend to many.
          Surviving is his high school sweetheart from Dover High and loving wife of 58 years, Betty Harrison Corn; daughter, Carol Hamilton and husband, C.W., of Southport; son, Nichlious Corn, III, and wife, Debbie, of Rocky Mount; brother, Neal Dunn of Florida; grandchildren: Nicole Waters and husband, Bryan, Emily Corn, Nick Corn, IV, Wes Hamilton and wife, Hannah and Dana Hobbs and husband, Jim; great-grandchildren: Isabella Hamilton, Brantley Corn, Grace Corn and Layla Waters; best friend, Charlie Chambers of Kinston.  Several nephews and cousins as well as a host of friends also survive.
          A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 29th in the Academy Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Sgt. E.L. Randolph, Chapter #57 D.A.V.  Rev. Robert Norris will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 28th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services.  To send online condolences, please visit our website at
