Details: Nora Wandaleen Mason Johnson of Cumming, Georgia, formerly of Spruce Pine, North Carolina, was born on March 7, 1932 in Pineville, Bell County, KY. She left this world to be with our Lord on Saturday, July 5, 2014.
She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, sister, a friend, a homemaker, a pilot, a community servant through Spruce Pine Junior and Senior Women’s Clubs, a Girls Auxiliary Leader and member of First Baptist Church in Spruce Pine, NC, a nurse, a Family Practitioner, a proud graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, a Director of Clinic Operations and Educator in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and so much more to us all.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James N. Johnson II, her parents, Floyd and Cleo Mason, one grandson, Christopher D. Renn II, and one great-grandson, William Z. Rogers III. Also preceding in death are her brothers, Laverne Mason, Floyd Mason, Keith Mason, Curtis Mason, and Perry Mason, and her sisters, Mary Eula Mason, Dewey Dee Mason, and Trulia Priscilla Mason.
Surviving are her two daughters, Mary Johnson Rogers of Dawsonville, GA, and Debra L. Johnson of Pisgah Forest, NC, and her two sons, James N. Johnson III of Johnson City, TN, and David A. Johnson of Gainesville, GA. Also surviving is one brother, Dexter Mason of Clarksville, TN, and four sisters, Quintella Miller of Buford, GA, Sibyl Chapman of Erwin, TN, Judy Taub of Raleigh, NC, and Octava Pitman of San Angelo, TX.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, William Z. Rogers Jr., Christopher T. Rogers, Allison Rogers Patterson, David A. Johnson II, Olivia G. Johnson, Emily Renn Strange, and R. Nolen Hughes, and her great-grandchildren, Lola Fuertes, Colt Strange, Christopher Rogers, and Kylie Grace Patterson.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, Spruce Pine, NC, followed by Funeral Services on Saturday, July 12th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Spruce Pine, NC with Rev. Larry Greene officiating. Interment will be in the Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery.
