Details: Nina Honeycutt of Georges Fork, went home to be with the Lord Monday, August 11, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Garvel and Cora McIntosh Honeycutt. She was also preceded in death by daughters: Ginger and Regina; and, brothers: G. B. and Rev. Jerome Honeycutt. She loved hiking, digging ginseng and attending Banks Creek Bible Church. “Red Nanny” was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Surviving are a daughter: Cynthia Fortner; sons: Jeff Honeycutt and fiancée, Becky Bradford, and Rev. Steve Robinson and wife, Xan, all of Burnsville; 3 sisters: Joyce Van Patton of Old Fort, Norma Branton and husband, Wayne, and Mary Burnett, all of Burnsville; 8 grandchildren; and, 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 8 PM Wednesday in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Her son, Rev. Steve Robinson, will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Thursday in Youngs Chapel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
