Panthers Begin Football Practice With High Hopes

The football team at East Yancey is hoping to continue its recent dominance in the Toe River Conference and they are off to a good start following a spirited preseason camp last week and a good first couple of days of official practice this week. Panther head coach Wade Shehan welcomed around 35 athletes to practice; many of them experienced players from last year’s undefeated conference championship team. East Yancey is working on a three-peat  this season after winning the last two regular season and Tri County Bowl crowns and they will get their first test in a scrimmage game at home against Waynesville Middle tentatively scheduled for the August 17th.
