Friday, May 12th was a milestone day for Emma Peterson at Hardees's of Burnsville. She was presented with a special award by Wanda Proffitt, EDC Director and recognition my Theresa Coletta, Mayor of Burnsville and by Bill Clark, Hardee's Mountain Star Franchisee. Randy Mylam, Hardees's district manager pointed out that Emma has not missed a single day of work in the 25 years and she gets up as early as 3am and usually walks 30 minutes to make those wonderful made from scratch biscuits.
Even more impressive than her commitment to Hardee's is Emma's commitment to helping the community. She gives of her time to work in the Seeds of Hope Community Garden at First Baptist which provides fresh food to Reconciliation House, she contributes financially to missions activities benefitting children in Yancey County, and she serves her church in many ways from helping with meals on Wednesday nights to assisting in the church nursery. Emma does much more than just serve biscuits; she serves love to our community.
