Mitchell FBLA Color Run a Success!

On Saturday, November 18, 2017, the Mitchell High School FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) teamed up with the Mitchell County SafePlace to put on a Color Fun Run as a fundraiser for the SafePlace's direct client fund. The SafePlace is a nonprofit organization that provides a shelter for all of the domestic violence victims from the Mitchell County Area.  When most of the families come into the care of the SafePlace, they have nothing with them but the clothes on their back. The Mitchell County SafePlace provides them with shelter, clothing, food, job opportunities, psychological therapy, and more.
Thanks to the runner participation from our local community and athletic teams, we raised $700.00 for their direct client needs fund. We had help from the SafePlace staff, FBLA members, JV cheer team, and others from the community. We had amazing sponsors who helped make the Color Fun Run a success: Unimin sponsored our runner and volunteer T-shirts, Buck Stove sponsored color powder, Tamara Rousseau with Monat sponsored bracelets, Get-A-Grip sponsored waters, and Suddreth Automotive sponsored complimentary bananas and granola bars.

We gave prizes to our top three females and top three males.
Top three females:                                        Top three males:
3rd place Female: Santana Sparks            3rd Place Male: Sammy Miller
2nd Place Female: Brandi Correll               2nd Place Male: Gabriel Miller
1st Place Female: Danielle Willis                1st Place Male: Jaden Barnett

Overall, it was a fun, colorful day and an amazing success!
